Silver Salmon

July 1st - September 30th

Silver or Coho Salmon are my favorite salmon to target with a fly. Coho are some of the most acrobatic fighters in the Pacific Salmon family and will often readily eat a fly. Silver Salmon average about 6 to 8 pounds with large fish tipping the scale at over 15 pounds. On Prince of Wales Island we get Coho runs in many of our waterways. There are numerous rivers and creeks that receive an early run starting in July as well as the large fall run beginning in August.
